At the DBT Centre of Vancouver, all of our services currently occur through telehealth. We are being very careful about the return to in-person services, and have not yet set a date for this transition. Following provincial health regulations, we have developed a COVID-19 Safety Policy that will apply when we begin to provide in-person services (available to view and download.).

About telehealth services at the DBT Centre of Vancouver

We currently provide our psychological, professional training, and consultation services through an online video-conferencing platform called Zoom for Healthcare. We may also occasionally provide some services via telephone, for those who are unable to use the above-platform. We have been using this platform for all of our services since mid-March. The transition to telehealth has gone very well, and we have been able to maintain excellent, high quality services. Our experiences are consistent with the research, which shows that telehealth psychological services can be just as effective as in-person services. Further, some clients have found that reduced commuting time, transportation costs, and so forth, are favourable benefits of telehealth.

As we expand our telehealth program, clients in B.C. communities outside the Lower Mainland may be able to access our DBT services in the coming months. DBT can be hard to find in many remote, rural or even urban communities across B.C. Therefore, we hope to expand our services and help clients in need from many communities in our province. Please check our website for updates on these future services.
