Leslie Zanette

Psy.D., R.Psych.

Dr. Leslie Zanette is a registered psychologist (#2909) and post-doctoral fellow at the DBT Centre of Vancouver. She received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. Her doctoral-level training has been primarily with high-risk populations with multi-diagnostic and complex problems.  She has experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, ranging across the lifespan, and in several clinical settings, including private practice, community organizations, and correctional, inpatient and outpatient settings.

She specializes in working with individuals with personality disorder, substance use, trauma backgrounds, conduct and behavioral problems, disrupted mood, and anxiety-related behaviors. Leslie helps individuals with symptom management and helps guide clients through the core of their issues. She develops treatment plans based on the specific individual needs of the client and incorporates both psychoeducation and therapeutic techniques to inform change and impact self-growth.

Leslie uses evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive behavioural and dialectical behavioural techniques. With a keen focus on emotion and attachment patterns, she continually incorporates the latest research findings into her work. Her research interests centre around the implementation of evidence-based practices, particularly DBT, in community settings. Additionally, she is interested in evaluating the efficacy of DBT skills within concurrent disordered populations residing in residential treatment facilities. Leslie also has an extensive background in psychological assessment. She works with clients to provide diagnostic clarification, recommendations, and treatment plans to support individuals with their emotional and behavioural needs.

Leslie is available Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9am – 5pm for in person or Zoom sessions. She is not available for evening or weekend appointments. She works with teens (15+) and adults.

In her spare time, and depending on the season, you can find her hiking up or skiing down a mountain, surfing, kayaking, or snowshoeing. She enjoys sharing the outdoors with her partner, son, and rambunctious rescue dog Scooby-Doo.
