Dr. Leslie Zanette is a registered psychologist (#2909) and Teen Team Lead at the DBT Centre of Vancouver. She earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. Her clinical training has focused on working with high-risk populations facing multi-diagnostic and complex mental health challenges. Dr. Zanette’s doctoral research evaluated the effectiveness of a DBT-informed skills group in a 90-day residential treatment program serving individuals with concurrent disorders. She completed a one-year post-doctoral fellowship with the DBT Centre of Vancouver where she deepened her knowledge and practical use of DBT with adolescents and adults.
Dr. Zanette’s clinical experience spans diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, working with individuals across the lifespan in various settings, including private practice, community organizations, correctional facilities, and both inpatient and outpatient environments. Dr. Zanette also has extensive experience working with neurodiverse populations, such as individuals diagnosed with ADHD and autism, and practices from a neurodiversity-affirming framework to create an inclusive, supportive environment.
Dr. Zanette specializes in treating individuals with personality disorder, self-harm and suicide behaviors, substance use issues, trauma histories, conduct and behavioral concerns, mood dysregulation, and anxiety-related conditions. Her therapeutic approach primarily incorporates dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques. Dr. Zanette also has specialized training and experience in evidence-based treatments for trauma. She is trained in both cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and DBT prolonged exposure (DBT-PE). She currently co-leads both the adolescent skills and parenting skills groups.
Dr. Zanette is available for Zoom sessions on Mondays and offers in-person appointments on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. She does not offer evening or weekend appointments. Dr. Zanette primarily works with teens (13+) and young adults.
Outside of work, Dr. Zanette is an outdoor enthusiast. Whether it’s hiking, skiing, surfing, kayaking, or snowshoeing, she embraces the seasons with her partner, son, and lively rescue dog, Scooby-Doo, by her side.
