The DBT Centre of Vancouver is a private centre that offers evidenced-based psychological services to those in Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and throughout BC. Our clinicians specialize in providing comprehensive DBT and working with people struggling with complex problems such as intense emotions that are difficult to manage, problems often associated with borderline personality disorder as well as high-risk behaviours such as chronic suicidality and self-harm. We have a full DBT program, including individual therapy, telephone consultation, skills training groups, and a consultation team.
Our clinicians are available to provide services in person or via tele-health (Zoom for Healthcare).
Our services are not covered by MSP (the provincial health care plan), LTD (Long term disability), PWD, Income Assistance, ICBC, or WorkSafeBC but part of our services may be covered by some extended health care plans, such as Canada Life, Manulife, Pacific Blue Cross, etc.

We do not direct bill to insurance companies. Clients pay after each service (we accept Visa, Mastercard, and debit/e-transfer) and submit receipts to their insurance for reimbursement.
We advise clients to check their insurance provider’s policy under “psychological services” or “counseling services” to see what is covered as all plans are different. Clients are directed to ask their insurance provider if they provide reimbursement for individual services provided by:
1.A Registered Psychologist (R.Psych.)
2.Any clinician supervised by a registered psychologist (includes doctoral students and doctoral clinicians)
Additionally, they should ask insurance provider if there is a yearly limit and if they provide reimbursement for group services. It’s our experience that they often do not cover group.
Referrals from doctors, psychiatrists, and psychologists are not required but appreciated. If you would like to refer one of your patients, please download our referral form and fax completed form to 604-569-1230.
Once we receive the referral, we will get in touch with the client directly.
