Sylvie Glisinski is a postdoctoral fellow at the DBT Centre of Vancouver. She holds a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from the University of Prince Edward Island and completed her pre-doctoral residency at the Edmonton Cross-Specialty Psychology Residency Consortium. Her doctoral dissertation examined ADHD and antisociality in youth, and Sylvie is also very passionate about clinical work with individuals with ADHD.
In residency, she trained in a university-based community clinic, a social service organization serving women, families, and non-binary people, and a workers compensation organization. As a resident, she also had the pleasure of assisting with supervision of students in the SCCP and Counselling Psychology programs at the University of Alberta. While in PEI, she was also fortunate to provide gender affirming care and assessment and is passionate about supporting 2SLBGTQIA+ clients. Sylvie has also facilitated support groups for veterinary students, university students with ADHD, parents of children with autism, and 2SLGBTQIA+ university students.
Sylvie has received training in approaches including dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT), as well as psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessment, among others.
Sylvie specializes in providing comprehensive DBT and working with adults who struggle with borderline personality disorder, non-suicidal self-injury (cutting, burning, etc), as well as chronic suicidal ideation and behaviour.
Sylvie is available Mondays afternoons and Wednesdays by Zoom and on Tuesdays and Thursdays for in-person sessions. She is not available for evening or weekend appointments.
