Nora Hope

Ph.D. (Associate Member)

Dr. Hope is a post-doctoral fellow in the Personality and Emotion Research Lab at Simon Fraser University. In her role as a research therapist on the FASTER DBT study, she sees individual clients and leads a DBT Skills Group. She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at McGill University in 2016 (CPA accredited), where she conducted research on the influence of life values on well-being. During her predoctoral internship (2015-2016), she worked as an intern in the McGill University Health Centre’s Personality Disorders Program and the Sex and Couple Therapy Service providing evidence-based psychotherapy to adults in the community. Her ongoing clinical interests include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for treating individuals struggling with overwhelming emotions, and enhancing individuals’ well-being through the pursuit of meaningful and autonomous personal goals. Outside of work, she can be found exploring the mountains on foot or on skis, running along the seawall, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family.
