Kallista Bell

Dr. Bell is a registered psychologist (BC College of Psychologists # 2227) providing treatment for adults, youth and children that is comprehensive and guided by up to date research and best practice guidelines. Dr. Bell has been trained in a variety of treatment methods, which allows her to use an integrative approach to therapy. Her goal as a therapist is to meet each client where they are at, and to tailor treatment to suit the unique life circumstances of the individual clients she sees.

Therapeutic approaches she has been trained in and draws upon include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy Mentalization Based Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy
Dr. Bell has also co-facilitated numerous groups including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for children and youth with anxiety, Interpersonal Therapy for adults with Eating Disorders, Mindfulness for youth with anxiety, and Parenting groups.

Dr. Bell has worked in a variety of settings including hospital inpatient, outpatient, community and private settings, providing treatment for clients with a range of difficulties including: mood and anxiety disorders, relational trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder eating disorders, parenting difficulties, relationship problems. She also has an extensive background and training in providing psychoeducational assessments for children, teens and adults.

Dr. Bell received her Master’s and PhD degrees from Simon Fraser University. Prior to entering private practice, she completed a pre-doctoral residency in general psychology at the Edmonton Clinical Psychology Residency Consortium. Her residency training focused on assessment and treatment for adults, children and youth within inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. Specifically, she worked with individuals of all ages with anxiety and mood disorders, youth and adults with eating disorders, and she also worked with youth in a forensic psychiatric setting. Dr. Bell previously held appointments at Child and Youth Mental Health, Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services, the Inner City Youth Mental Health Program and SFU’s Clinical Psychology Centre.

Dr. Bell is an active member of the BC College of Psychologists, the BC Psychological Association and the Canadian Psychological Association. She is a clinical associate at the SFU Clinical Psychology Centre, providing training to graduate students in clinical psychology. As a registered psychologist, she is actively involved in ongoing continuing education in order to provide the most cutting edge, up to date treatment approaches to the clients she works with.
