POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

Applicants are invited for a full-time (starting Fall 2012) post-doctoral fellowship at the DBT Centre of Vancouver (DBTCV). The DBTCV is an evidence-based treatment centre specializing in the treatment of multi-problem clients, such as individuals with borderline personality disorder. We provide evidence-based treatments for adults and adolescents with a variety of clinical problems, and we have a comprehensive DBT program and an active consultation team, including psychologists, post-doctoral fellows, and clinical psychology students. The founders of the DBT Centre both completed post-doctoral fellowships with Dr. Marsha Linehan, at the University of Washington.

The post-doctoral fellowship involves a variety of training opportunities, including individual and team supervision in DBT and other evidence-based treatments, didactic training in DBT and CBT, and experience in the training and supervision of doctoral students. Although this is primarily a clinical fellowship, the fellow may have the opportunity to get involved with laboratory and treatment-oriented research on borderline personality disorder in the Personality and Emotion Research Laboratory at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Interested fellows may also have the opportunity to teach a course at SFU.

Requirements: Ph.D. or Psy.D. from APA or CPA accredited graduate program prior to start date; APA or CPA accredited pre-doctoral internship; experience and training in CBT for adults and/or adolescents; a strong interest in DBT and in working with multi-problem clients.
